Devlog 2024-11-01


(Friday, November 1st, 2024)

Hey, all! I know I'm one day late for Halloween. I was planning on writing this devlog yesterday, but life got in the way. Anyways, progress has been going pretty well. I've implemented a couple of ideas that I've been thinking about for a while, including one that will hopefully help any players that get stuck and don't know what to do. I'm currently in the process of finishing up Act 3, and balancing both acts 2 and 3, after which I will probably release the demo version (hopefully with a trailer!)

To anyone who's been following the project, from the bottom of my heart, thank you so much. You have no clue how much it means to me that you think this silly little indie project is worth your attention.

In other news, I've been practicing my pixel art, and I'll show off some of the sprites I've made at the end of this post (some of my online friends have likely seen some of them already)

As far as assets go, most of them for acts 2 and 3 are done. There are a couple of songs for both the cliff town and the desert town that I still need to get done. I've been thinking of slightly redesigning Chaz's shirt, but I don't know if I really want to yet. I've changed Sunny's dialogue portrait to be less... disconcerting, and show off her cute sharp tooth. 

As far as encounters and... y'know... actual RPG stuff go, I've been working on a few enemy encounters for the Starlight Woodlands area, complete with a random assortment one as well (each area has at least one of these.)
